Mark Ramler

President

Mark is a 6th generation Campbell County resident, and resides in Newport’s East Row Historic District where he is actively involved in the neighborhood, home tours, planning committees, and serves on the City’s Historic Preservation Commission.  He is actively involved in the Newport Business Community as well, and is President of the Newport Business Association. Mark grew up in the historic Camp Springs community in Southern Campbell County, and in 2011 published a book about the Camp Springs area and its historical and architectural significance; as well as guidelines to conserve the community’s unique resources. Mark is a graduate of Bishop Brossart High School in Alexandria, and also holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Kentucky in Architecture and Historic Preservation. While at UK, Mark was actively involved in student government, the American Institute of Architecture Students, and was a Student Ambassador.  He served on the UK Graduate Student Congress, and also worked collaboratively with the University, Preservation Kentucky, and State of Kentucky on the Rural Heritage Design Initiative to set National Standards for rural conservation and planning projects. After graduation, Mark worked for several years with a Cincinnati based developer. He managed numerous historic and LEED-certified renovations, worked extensively with local municipalities, and assisted with low-income and historic tax credit projects that help revitalize urban neighborhoods.  He is a small business owner of Mansion Hill Properties, which he founded in 2012, as well as being a licensed Realtor in Ohio and Kentucky. Mansion Hill Properties specialize in historic renovations, neighborhood revitalization, and real estate development. Mark serves on the board of trustees of the Kentucky Trust for Historic Preservation, ReNewport, and The Newport Foundation. He has also been heavily involved with the Flying Pig Marathon and their charities for over a decade.

City of Newport

Bev Holiday, Community Liaison Coordinator for the City of Newport, also serves as the Vice President of the NBA. Ms. Holiday works with new and existing businesses in securing site locations and promoting their services.  Also assists the City Manager with economic development issues, keeps local media updated on city announcements, coordinates the Farmers Market from May-October, coordinates several events, such as the Taste of Newport and updates residents/business owners on activities/events in the city.  She has been a Newport resident for 10 years and active in city events for 20 years.
